THE Mthwakazi Liberation Front (MLF) plans to hold an elective conference in Bulawayo before the end of this year and push for the establishment of an independent “Mthwakazi state” by 2018.
Report by Staff Reporter
Party secretary-general Paul Siwela told NewsDay yesterday that most of the party’s activities were being disturbed by its three leaders’ treason case which was still underway in the courts.
The trio – Siwela, Charles Thomas and former secretary-general John Gazi – are being charged with conspiring to overthrow a constitutionally-elected government through violent means.
The State has since closed its case in the matter.
Their application for discharge will be heard by High Court judge Justice Nicholas Ndou on November 5 or 6.
