Denzel Murerwa was sentenced last Friday after appearing before Chitungwiza magistrate Jessy Kufa, facing five counts of unlawful entry and theft.

For the prosecution, Tatenda Mukatera presented that sometime in July this year, Murerwa broke into Kennedy Surudzo’s house using a screwdriver and stole a television set, home theatre and cellphone, and left undetected.

The court heard, during the same month, Murerwa used a screwdriver to force-open Nancy Midzi’s house and stole a television set, play station and a handbag containing $130.

Using the same modus operandi, Murerwa last month broke into Kevin Chirisa, Memory Maje and Vengesai Ngwerume’s houses and stole several electrical gadgets.
