CONGOLESE rhumba outfit, Diamond Musica, has found a new home in Mutare at Club Mandisa following the waning of their fortunes in Harare, where they had become a household name at the peak of their career.

The last two months have seen the group making polished acts every two weeks at the Mutare joint.
The group’s leader, Pitshou Lumiere, told NewsDay that they were overwhelmed by the positive response from Mutare fans.
“Mutare is like our home because the people there really enjoy rhumba music. Last Friday we performed there and it was a full house. We want to give them non-stop rhumba music from Diamond Musica,” he said.

Lumiere said the famous rhumba group was determined to keep the genre alive and serve Mutare’s die-hard rhumba fans that follow their live shows.
The fans in Mutare have been introduced to new enthralling dance moves in the group’s repertoire of dances, including the Dollar and Presidential Motorbike dances.
Diamond Musica is one of the longest-serving rhumba outfits in Zimbabwe and is made up of Democratic Republic of Congo nationals, who have been resident in the country for over a decade.
They have released hits like Sina Makosa, Amawule, Miniskirt and Amai that have given them an edge in the rhumba music circles.
