It all started when police randomly fired teargas to disperse crowds gathered at the Freedom Square for the grand demo. The next thing, the provoked protesters, mostly youths were barricading roads that lead into town, resulting in the close of the Harare Agriculture Show.
Despite the High Court having ordered the demo to go ahead, police went ahead firing teargas and deploying water cannons on civilians all over the Harare CBD.
Women, children, men, the young and the old were seen running for cover as police gleefully threw teargas and sprayed the harmful on people who were attempting to take minibuses home.
