Three Zimbabwean nationals, who were extradited from Kuwait over human trafficking allegations, were yesterday brought before a Harare provincial magistrate.

Norest Maruma (30), Tinashe Magret Nyamande (23) and Lorraine Nhapata (30) were not asked to plead when they appeared before provincial magistrate Tendai Mahwe and were remanded in custody to today for bail application.

According to the State, on unknown dates but between February and July this year, the three suspects allegedly recruited and transferred the complainants to work as maids in Kuwait.

They were arrested on Friday last week at Harare International Airport upon arrival from Kuwait.

In opposing bail, the investigating officer, Maria Phiri, told the court the suspects were flight risks since they were well connected in the trafficking network.
