A 26-YEAR-OLD Truevine Ministry pastor was yesterday convicted by a Harare magistrate for stealing an iPhone valued at $1 200 from a fellow pastor.

The convict, Macdonald Svinurai of Highfield, Harare, who was being charged with theft, is to be sentenced today.

The complainant, Mobile Sande of Ruwa, is also a pastor at Truevine Ministries.

The court heard that on November 17 this year, Sande gave Svinurai keys to his office so he could remove his belongings.

While removing his property Svinurai stole Sande’s iPhone.

After committing the offence, he left the door open and returned the keys to Sande.

The following day Sande discovered that his phone had been stolen and confronted Svinurai, who claimed that he had not seen it.

A police report was made and Svinurai confessed to stealing the during interrogation, leading to his arrest.

Sande’s phone was not recovered.
