THREE people died while 31 others were seriously injured in a pile-up that occurred at Umguza Bridge along the Gwanda-Bulawayo Road on Tuesday night.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Chief Inspector Precious Simango yesterday confirmed he accident, saying: “I can confirm that we received a report of an accident that involved three cars.”
She said one person died on the spot and two others on admission to the United Bulawayo Hospitals.
Simango said a white Toyota Hilux double cab travelling east was involved in a head-on collision with a PSV Iveco commuter omnibus.
She said this accident occurred after the driver of the Iveco tried to overtake a haulage truck.

Simango said after the collision, a white Madza 323 crashed into one of the vehicles which was blocking the road.
