Thousands of Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW) gathered in Chinhoyi last week to pray for God’s love.
Speaking at the three-day gathering at Chinhoyi showgrounds that ended on Sunday, JW spokesperson of the event Saul Manyembere said the gathering was to appreciate God’s love to humanity.
“The gathering is about showing that God’s love is everlasting and the objective of the coming together is to encourage people to continue having trust in the Word of God,” he said.
Manyembere said people should strive to live Godly lives for them to exhibit the true Love of God to other people.
He said the gathering attracted new converts and those who may have tired along the Christian spiritual journey.

One of the new converts, Memory Matienga, from Chemundi in Makonde, said she was touched by a JW building which withstood the Cyclone Idai devastation in Chimaninani mid-March this year.
“I was attracted to Jehovah Witness church because of their church building that remained intact in Chimanimani after Cyclone Idai devastation. To me, it showed that God was indicating something to this generation in that church,” she said.
Long-time believer, John Chambarami, who was baptised in 1959, said the picture of the church encouraged him to remain faithful to the Word of God.
“The Jehovah Witness church building that remained standing after Cyclone Idai gave me inspiration that Jehovah is in it,” he said.
Those who attended the meetings came from as far as Muriel Mine in Zvimba, Chemundi in Makonde, Pote, Mhangura and others travelling as much as 80km to Chinhoyi. Manyembere said 34 people were baptised during the three-day event, with the youngest being only 10 years old.
