FOURTEEN candidates have been shortlisted for the Marondera town clerk post, with interviews set to be conducted end of this week.
More than 70 people applied for the post to be filled in February next year following the retirement of Josiah Musuwo, who has been at the helm for more than three decades.
Mayor Chengetai Murowa yesterday confirmed the latest developments, though he did not divulge names of the shortlisted candidates.
“We received more than 70 applications and we are left with only 14 shortlisted candidates who will be invited for interviews on Friday. As for the shortlisted names I do not have,” he said.
NewsDay is reliably informed that some of the shortlisted candidates include chamber secretary Rinashe Nyamuzihwa, finance director John Kachingwe and Murewa Rural District Council chief executive officer Alois Gurajena.Musuwo is one of the longest serving town clerks in the history of Zimbabwe.
