The condition of Rosemary Charlie, who was allegedly axed by her husband, is reportedly worsening amid fears of kidney failure.

Charlie, who was admitted at Chitungwiza General Hospital in a critical condition last month, has been in the institution’s intensive care unit since then as her condition has reportedly deteriorated.

Her sister Rudo Charlie told NewsDay, that Rosemary’s condition had deteriorated.

“My sister is struggling in hospital and we have heard that she is now having problems with her kidneys due to the injuries she sustained,” said Rudo.

“She is not recovering and the kidney failure threat is now of concern to us. When she was taken to the hospital she looked like she would recover quickly, but from the look of things it’s not happening that way,” she added.

The husband, Gorden Tsuro, a senior provincial marriage registrar, was freed from brief police detention and was granted $500 bail by a Chitungwiza magistrate soon after the alleged attack.
