Vice-President John Nkomo, who was reportedly under observation at an exclusive clinic in South Africa, is back in the country and was in his office yesterday.

“He is back in town,” Webster Shamu, the Minister of Media, Information and Publicity, told NewsDay yesterday.

“He was in his office and was holding meetings on national healing. As we speak, he is walking out of the office to drive home.”

Shamu confirmed Nkomo was in South Africa for medical treatment saying: “Just like anyone else he goes for regular check-ups.”

The Vice-President was was reportedly rushed to South Africa after falling ill at his official residence in Harare.
