BINGA — A man from Mujere fishing camp was yesterday slapped with an effective 30 days in jail after he assaulted his former wife for refusing to reconcile with him. REPORT BY STAFF REPORTER

David Mutsaka (age not given) pleaded guilty to domestic violence when he appeared before Binga resident magistrate Stephen Ndlovu.

Public prosecutor David Never Shiku told the court that on October 25 this year, the complainant Dudzai Nyika, who separated with Mutsaka, was buying fish at Sinamsanga business centre.

Mutsaka approached her and demanded that they reconcile, but Nyika refused.

Mutsaka then ran amok and punched her before stripping her of her jacket and grabbing her breasts, forcefully pulling out her bra.

Nyika later reported the incident to the police, leading to Mutsaka’s arrest.
