HARARE magistrate Donald Ndirowei yesterday postponed the trial of five Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) staffers and a taxi driver charged with manufacturing fake copies of registration certificates to April 9.

Gift Mtisi, who was representing the six, ZimRights director Okay Machisa, Nunurai Jena, Dorcas Shereni, Leo Chamahwinya, Farai Bhani and a taxi driver Tatenda Chinaka, sought postponement arguing that he had not yet received State papers.
Public prosecutor Michael Reza said the State papers had initially been served to the suspects’ other lawyer Trust Maanda.
The ZimRights staffers are facing allegations of manufacturing fake voter registration certificates, forgery and conspiracy to commit fraud, or publishing false information prejudicial to the State.
