THE Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) Board has appointed Loughty Dube as the new executive director with effect from January 1, 2014.

Dube replaces Takura Zhangazha, who left the organisation on November 30 last year to pursue other interests after having been with the VMCZ for three years.
In a statement yesterday, VMCZ board chairperson Alec Muchadehama said prior to his appointment, Dube was the VMCZ acting executive director.
Previously, he was programmes officer, advocacy and complaints.
Dube, a former NewsDay senior staffer, has 15 years media and training experience.
