In their six-week tour of Spain, Club Shanga held several workshops, cultural exchange programmes in several schools and concerts around the country and also managed to do collaborations with Spanish artists.
Music Crossroads director Mathias Bangure recently told NewsDay: “The show slated for The Basement is an initiative to familiarise the outfit with the people and those who appreciate culture.
“We are expecting people to attend the show and it is scheduled to start at around 8pm till late
“The most important thing is that we are expecting high levels of interaction, one aspect that we always encourage through music.”
Bangure also added that Club Shanga’s debut album titled The Fullness of Time that was supposed to be released soon after their tour from Spain was going to be launched on July 15 in Harare at a venue yet to be disclosed.

The Fullness of Time is an eight-track album slated for release this month and has tracks like Mukondombera, Mukaushande, Ndinaye, Musango, Mwoyo Wangu, Makwikwi, Simuka and Kusaziva.
Club Shanga is made up of six members namely Georgina Mutenda, Musa Maruwa, Perseverance Mataranyika, Vongai Mukonde, Trust Mutombo and Aggabu Nyabinde, the son of legendary musician Bob Nyabinde who replaced the late Nixon Sauchi.
Club Shanga plays a lively blend of afro-centric music enhanced by melodious female voices.
The group calls its music “afro Shangara” as it derives from a traditional music style from their region, which also inspired their name, Shangara.
This group will never be forgotten by fans who witnessed their sterling performance and offering at the recent Harare International Festival of the Arts on the Coca-Cola Green Stage.
Since its inception in 1996 Music Crossroads has grown to become the largest and most popular youth cultural initiative in sub-Saharan Africa offering unique opportunities for young people aged between 15 and 25 from marginalised backgrounds.
