MULTI-AWARD-WINNING gospel singer Everton Mlalazi says the annual Zimbabwe Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) choir’s Celestial Chorus Tour is evolving into a powerful cross-border celebration of faith, unity and worship.

Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style ahead of the much-anticipated concert set for tomorrow at the Big Top Arena Carnival in Johannesburg, Mlalazi said the event continued to grow to a spiritual and musical gathering that attracts gospel lovers from across the region.

The concert is free of charge, courtesy of the Bridging Gaps Foundation, led by businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei and his wife Sandra, who have covered all associated costs.

“The Celestial Chorus Tour has become more than just a musical showcase. It is now a platform that unites worshippers and gospel music enthusiasts through uplifting and inspiring performances,” he said.

“I am happy to be back in Mzansi for this annual event, sharing the stage with a star-studded line-up of talented artistes known for delivering unforgettable gospel experiences.”

Mlalazi said the foundation’s support ensures accessibility for all.

He will present his latest offering, In His Presence 3: Great God, which is already resonating with audiences beyond Zimbabwe, as seen in huge attendances at his recent shows in neighbouring countries, including Zambia.

This year’s edition will feature a 100-piece symphonic band alongside an impressive line-up of Zimbabwean and South African gospel artistes.

Mlalazi will share the stage with South African gospel stars Lebo Sekgobela, Nontokozo Mkhize, Dumi Mkokstad, Sindi Ntombela and Mthunzi Namba.

They will be joined by local artistes Sharon Cherayi and Janet Manyowa, among others, creating a dynamic cross-border celebration of faith through music.

Also set to perform are Peniel Tambama, Rudo Madindi, Mpumi Mtsweni, Fisani Masinga, Natasha Mlalazi, Petronella Sengwayo, Tawanda Midzi, Precious Marimbire, Mmatema, In Accord and Canaan Nyathi.

For many gospel music followers, the Celestial Chorus Tour is more than a concert — it is a spiritual encounter where voices, instruments and hearts unite in celebration of faith.
