TADZIE Madzima, a local multi-award-winning life and career coach who has for more than a decade pioneered leadership breakthroughs for young people and women, was recently named a 2025 World of Difference Award recipient by The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) hosted at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre in Greece.

This honour places her among exceptional global changemakers from 27 countries and six continents who were recognised for their innovation, leadership and commitment to uplifting women worldwide.

Madzima was selected in the NGO/Non-Profit category for her outstanding contribution to the economic empowerment of women and joined 43 other recipients comprising organisations and individuals who represented countries such as Sri Lanka, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Paraguay, Colombia, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Brazil, among others.

TIAW is a global charitable foundation dedicated to the economic empowerment and advancement of women all over the globe.

“Our focus is simple — if you empower women, you change the world,” TIAW president Donna Meredith said in a statement following the hosting of the event on November 2.

“We honour individuals like Tadzie, whose leadership and commitment are unlocking economic and social possibilities for women across generations.”

This latest accolade adds to her growing global recognition as one of Africa’s most influential voices in youth empowerment, gender equality and purpose-centred leadership.

Last year, she won the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the third edition of the Zimbabwe Community News Community Trailblazers Awards including two awards at the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network Women Leadership Awards in the Woman of Impact category, where she scooped both the Gold and Platinum Award.

Her recognition by TIAW follows a series of regional and international honours that celebrate her contribution to humanity, women’s economic empowerment and youth development on the African continent.

She is a two-time honoree of the Women Changing the World Awards — a global awards platform created to highlight women who are creating positive and lasting impact in their communities and industries.

The awards were founded by Tererai Trent, a senior consultant with more than 18 years of international experience in programme and policy evaluation.

Trent is an internationally recognised Zimbabwean scholar, humanitarian leader and global voice for girls’ education and empowerment and also a one-time guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Madzima has also been honoured as an Iconic Leader Creating a Better World for All by the 88th edition of the Women Economic Forum — an international platform connecting over 250 000 women leaders worldwide.

Her award, presented in Lagos, Nigeria, recognises visionaries who are advancing gender equity, innovation, and sustainable community transformation.

Through her organisation Ignite Youth, the high achiever has empowered more than 30 000 young people across Zimbabwe with mentoring, innovation training, career guidance and leadership development.

Her work prioritises young women’s access to skills, opportunities, and agency — ensuring that they can shape their futures and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Her global leadership experience spans advocacy, strategic communications, social impact innovation and multi-stakeholder engagement across Africa, Europe and North America.

“Our stories are powerful — and we are rewriting the future. This award strengthens my conviction that purpose-led leadership can transform entire communities,” she told NewsDay Life & Style.

“When women and youth are given the chance to rise, economies shift, nations evolve and the future bends towards hope.

“This is the work of my life. I stand proudly as an African woman whose purpose is bigger than any title.

“This award is a call to continue uplifting young people — especially young women — to access opportunity, dignity and a future that honours their brilliance.

“We are not the future; we are the now.”
