MR Tourism Zimbabwe 2024 Royce Gavi is aiming high once again, setting his sights on the coveted Mr Heritage Zimbabwe 2025 title.

The pageant is set to take place at Casino Marina in Harare on Saturday.

The Mr Heritage Zimbabwe pageant is a unique platform seeking to identify well-groomed young men to become ambassadors for cultural preservation, youth empowerment, tourism promotion, social cohesion, role modelling, community development, diversity and inclusion.

Gavi is a fashion designer, model, and model groomer. The 23-year-old has carved his name in Zimbabwe’s fashion and beauty industry. He represented the nation at Mr Tourism Africa Zim 2024 and graced international runways.

With an impressive track record that includes three international Best Costume awards and two national titles, Gavi’s creativity and charisma have cemented him as one of Zimbabwe’s standout modelling talents.

Gavi's motivation for pursuing Mr Heritage Zimbabwe 2025 stems from his desire to expand his impactful advocacy initiative, IMFUNDO/DZIDZO, which pays schools for underprivileged learners.

His experience as Mr Tourism Zimbabwe 2024 has equipped him with valuable leadership and advocacy skills in preparing for the competition.

“Heritage and tourism align in the preservation of our culture, promoting sustainable tourism and national development. My experience has equipped me with a proven platform to promote cultural heritage and tourism through campaigns sharing knowledge,” Gavi told NewsDay Life & Style.

“I have demonstrated my ability to mobilise students on the significance of our heritage for national development; moreover, this directly aligns with the office of Mr Heritage Zimbabwe.”

Gavi wants to use this platform to showcase his passion for culture and heritage when he wins.

“I am passionate about indigenous languages, cultural dances, and fashion as a designer. I fuse our culture with modern trends to inspire youth to accept and embrace our identity as we are living in a digital era,” he said.

“I want to encourage Zimbabweans to accept and embrace our heritage in a fight against cultural decadence and losing our identity. Heritage plays a major role in the development of a country. Let Zimbabwe be seen and her people be respected.” With his compelling vision and dedication, Gavi emerges as a strong contender for Mr Heritage Zimbabwe 2025, poised to champion Zimbabwe’s cultural heritage and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development narrative.

This year’s competition features 20 talented contestants vying for the title of Mr Heritage Zimbabwe 2025, making it a highly anticipated event.
