OLIVER “Tuku” Mtukudzi made a surprise appearance at the Italian Club on Saturday evening where he belted out three popular hits from his past albums at the International Jazz and World Festival which ran from October 17 to 21. Report by Ropafadzo Mapimhidze, Features & Supplements Editor

The moment Tuku walked on stage, the audience roared into life as they applauded the celebrated artist. He started off with Neria.

He invited Dudu Manhenga, a jazz icon, to join him on stage. Manhenga did not disappoint the audience as their voices blended and left the audience dancing and singing along.

Down Time Quintet, an Italian group, performed some danceable tunes soon after Tuku had left the stage.

John Pfumojena was expected to perform that evening. The Italian Embassy sponsored the event which attracted diplomats and people from different walks of life.
