The Royal Mausoleum at Bremang received the remains of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, ahead of her final burial rites.

The week-long funeral, which began on Monday, culminated in a solemn and culturally significant burial in line with Asante traditions.

A visit by to Bremang on Thursday morning showed that the Royal Mausoleum has been fully adorned in black and red cloths, traditional symbols of mourning, signaling the sorrow felt across the Ashanti Kingdom.

Residents of Bremang are observing the strict directive issued by Manhyia Palace to remain indoors during the burial.

The atmosphere in the Kumasi Central Business District is equally somber, as the city came to a complete halt.
