VICTORIA FALLS, Mar. 31 (NewsDay Live) – The International Dairy Federation (IDF) Regional Dairy Conference for Africa begins today in Victoria Falls, bringing together stakeholders to develop practical solutions to boost food security and rural economic growth across the continent.

The conference runs until April 2.

The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development confirmed Zimbabwe’s readiness to host the high-level gathering, underscoring its strategic importance to the transformation of the dairy industry.

“The focus is on climate-smart dairy, value addition and market access to boost food security and rural growth,” the ministry said.

“This platform brings together key stakeholders to share knowledge and identify practical pathways to strengthen Africa’s dairy value chains.”

The ministry said Zimbabwe aims to benefit from regional cooperation in the sector, supported by ongoing efforts to increase milk production, assist smallholder farmers and expand processing capacity.
