Out and About: This lavish worship overflow is Christ’s!

Getting the most from her faith; Mbambo’s recent birdcall craft titled ‘Lavish Worship’ won the coveted Female Artist of The Year, Album of The Year, and Best Contemporary Faith Album.

Praise the Lord and sing praises to Him, all you peoples. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit; reads the Bible in Romans 15 verse 11, 13 — as Christmastide characterised with a much-needed most enriching soul replenishment experience, is beyond any shred of doubt looking out of this amazing glass!

Since the complexity of the human mind compels it to reach out to something higher and greater than itself; to wind down the fall of the 2023 time period, South Africa’s gospel hulks Ntokozo Mbambo, Winnie Mashaba, Dumi Mkokstad, Takie Ndou, Sbu Noah, and Bethusile (Mcinga) will — on the night of December 9 — headline the annual ‘Soul Inspired’ concert. A David kind of Book of Psalms depiction paying tribute to the awesome Yahweh — set to take place at Mosaiek Teatro, in Randburg.

Steadfast in faith, heavily aware that, “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17); Mzansi’s cadence radio station Kaya 959 as well as SPAR a Dutch multinational franchise that provides branding, supplies and support services for independently owned as well as operated food retail stores — are proud to present the homecoming of this square up praise and worship extravaganza.

In any case, Matthew 5 verse 7 reading, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy”, it is written in the book of Isaiah 41 verse 5 to 6: “They approach and come forward; each helps the other and says to his brother, ‘Be strong!’”. Bighearted, Maxine D’Amico — Inland promotions & advertising manager of SPAR — reckons that the annual ‘Soul Inspired’ concert which returned from a slender sabbatical, will redoubtably dwell on and teem in its civil-libertarian bespoken giving angle of inclination.

“This year will not be unlike the others as we carry on the tradition of giving back to those in need. A charity will be chosen, and a portion of proceeds collected on behalf of this radio station’s fantastic audience will be handed over by SPAR and Kaya 959,” D’Amico said.

From the ticker of Gauteng, Kaya 959 ties in with patriotic listeners through a bird’s-eye array of digital and on-air platforms. At the nucleus of their listening experience is a well-heeled tapestry of honey ditties, a potpourri of chart-topping and old-school tunes — all-embracing genres like Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Kwaito, as well as Jazz. The radio station remains sworn to portraying an honest-to-god rumination of its listeners’ cornucopia, depth, and diversity — ‘On The Street, On The Air’.

Counting down the weeks to this annual gospel experience, the Holy Scripture says in Philippians 2 verse 4: “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others” — a delightful meditative biblical allusion patterning how caring for others could cure the world.

A faith that counts played up; ecstasy stringed along Kaya 959 MD Colleen Louw’s heavy-duty kisser on the hardscrabble, results in her professing: “Being able to give back, and to better the lives of others at this time of the year is a highlight for our team. This year we’ve once again got a line-up of stellar talent, promising an unforgettable experience!”

The Holy Spirit being a cultivator of love; with a successful career of over two decades in gospel melody, Ntokozo Mbambo shall demonstrate — at the 2023 edition of the ‘Soul Inspired’ concert — how the resounding echo of worship can make the face of omniscient Jehovah shine upon us.

The Supreme Being’s love endures forever; a fortnight ago — during a dazzling ceremony at SunBet Arena in Pretoria — the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) unveiled the triumphs of this year’s South African Music Awards (Samas). Besides Amapiano maestro Kabza De Small bossing with four laurels (Best Duo/Group of The Year with DJ Maphorisa, Best Produced Album, Best Amapiano Album, and Best Kwaito Album alongside Kwesta); the night unconditionally belonged to Ntokozo Mbambo — who secured three accolades.

Getting the most from her faith; Mbambo’s recent birdcall craft titled ‘Lavish Worship’ won the coveted Female Artist of The Year, Album of The Year, and Best Contemporary Faith Album.

On this special occasion where the spick-and-span African flagship event Africa Fest harmonised planetary Amapiano billow with Samas integration, Dumi Mkokstad — who at the ‘Soul Inspired’ concert will proclaim the Almighty’s great deeds — was among the first batch of winners in the non-broadcast categories. A swayer class which also included Nduduzo Makhathini for Best Jazz Album, and Khuzani for Best Maskandi Album.

While Bernice West and Nathi were honoured with the Best Pop Album and Best African Adult Contemporary Album awards, respectively, Mkokstad bagged the Best Traditional Faith Album gong for his efforts on the full bodied opus creation known in a devout mode as — ‘The Overflow’. Incredibly outwitting IPCC (Hoja Ke Sena Wena), Tsholofelo Ntuli (Ndiyabulela), Phumulani Radebe (The Grace Encounter Vol. 1), Brown Mosiapoa (Sedi Laka) — fellow musicians with equally quite satisfactorily seasoned and well cooked to the bone champagne works of canons.

Having set sights on SAMA 29 glory and conquered, Ntokozo Mbambo and Dumi Mkokstad will ultimately — on the second Saturday of this December — come face-to-face with the bunch; robust, eager to dish out the sauce in their walking on air berceuse gems. A move set to fully complement legendary Winnie Mashaba’s thunderbolt stage presence that e’er sends fist whooping enthusiasts into cloud nine!

Soaring on wings like eagles for the past 25 years; to her name, the latter has from gold discs to double platinum status brisk jams such as ‘Menwana Phezulu’, ‘Re Tla Mo Leboga Kang’, ‘Joang kapa Joang’ and ‘Ke Rata Wena’.

The ‘Soul Inspired’ concert finding strength in Yahweh; Venda euphony producer Takie Ndou’s lips will by all odds shout for joy. The latter has worked with Spirit of Praise, Gospel Goes Classical, Tshwane Gospel Choir, Dr. Rebecca Malope, Bishop Benjamin Dube, Sipho Ngwenya, Prophet Neyi Zimu, Pastor Collen Maluleke, and Vashawn Mitchell from the US — and it is this X-factor that will be put under the microscope!
