HIGHLANDERS have confirmed that a fourth person who died in the tragic road traffic accident that claimed the lives of club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, vice-chairman Sifiso Siziba and treasurer Nkani Khoza was a devoted club member and supporter Mbalenhle Sibanda.
In a statement, the Bulawayo giants said they had learnt of Sibanda's death with profound sadness, describing her as a passionate and loyal supporter whose love for the club embodied the spirit, pride and unity of Highlanders.
The club said Sibanda's unwavering dedication to Bosso and the warmth she shared with fellow supporters would be remembered with deep gratitude and affection.
Highlanders extended their deepest condolences to the Sibanda family, friends and the entire Highlanders family during the difficult period, while also standing in solidarity with members and supporters mourning the heartbreaking loss.
The club said Sibanda's memory, loyalty and love for Highlanders Football Club would forever remain in the hearts of the Bosso family.
The deaths of Mhlophe, Siziba, Khoza and Sibanda have plunged Highlanders, Bulawayo and the wider Zimbabwean football fraternity into mourning, with condolence messages continuing to pour in from across the country.
Several football stakeholders have paid tribute to the departed quartet, describing their deaths as a huge loss to Zimbabwean football.
Funeral and memorial service arrangements are expected to be announced by the affected families and the club.
