THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has postponed Sunday's Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Bulawayo derby between Highlanders and Chicken Inn following the tragic death of Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, vice chairman Sifiso Siziba and treasurer Nkani Khoza in a road traffic accident.
In a statement, the PSL said the Matchday 25 fixture scheduled for Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday had been called off as the football fraternity mourns the loss of three senior administrators.
"The Premier Soccer League advises all stakeholders that the Castle Lager PSL fixture between Highlanders FC and Chicken Inn FC scheduled for Sunday 26 July 2026, has been postponed following the passing of PSL Vice Chairman, Rtd. Col. Kenneth Mhlophe, Highlanders FC Vice Chairman, Sifiso Siziba and Treasurer, Nkani Khoza," the PSL said.
The league also directed all clubs and football stakeholders to observe a minute of silence before the start of all Matchday 25 fixtures in honour of the late executives.
"We call upon all clubs and football stakeholders to officially observe a moment of silence in respect and honour of their legacy before the commencement of all Matchday 25 fixtures."
In addition, all teams will wear black armbands during weekend matches as a mark of respect.
"All clubs are requested to participate in this tribute by wearing black armbands during the weekend matches."
The deaths of Mhlophe, Siziba and Khoza have plunged Highlanders and the wider football community into mourning, with tributes continuing to pour in from across the country.

Mhlophe also served as PSL vice chairman, making his passing a significant loss to both Highlanders and Zimbabwean football administration.
The PSL said details regarding the rescheduled date for the Bulawayo derby would be announced in due course.
