We support Blessed “Bombshell” Geza: Diaspora community

Blessed “Bombshell” Geza

WE in Diaspora stand in unwavering solidarity with Blessed "Bombshell" Geza and the courageous movement he leads, advocating for the restoration of the principles that guided Zimbabwe's liberation struggle.

The current administration, under President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has strayed from these foundational ideals, fostering corruption, nepotism, and economic mismanagement.

These sentiments were echoed by a human rights activist Prince Sabao who lived Tafara and a former member of the MDC.

Geza, a distinguished war veteran and ZANU-PF central committee member, has been vocal in his criticism of the government's deviation from the values of economic emancipation, freedom, and justice. He has highlighted the administration's betrayal of the people by surrounding itself with dishonest cronies who exploit national resources for personal gain.

In a recent address, Geza emphasized the importance of unity among Zimbabweans in this struggle, stating, "The idea is to embrace every Zimbabwean without exception. This is not a fight for one party or one person. No. There will be no repeat of 2017. There's no 'Chinhu Chedu' in this space. It's ours together." This has been welcomed by member of the CCC in UK Brian Chikukwa who is based in Manchester and holds regular protests outside the Zimbabwe embassy.

Furthermore, Geza has issued stern warnings against the use of force on peaceful demonstrators, underscoring that the right to protest is a fundamental freedom secured through immense sacrifice.

He declared that war veterans are prepared to respond if the police resort to such measures, emphasizing, "If we hear there is anyone arrested for the enjoyment of his/her constitutional rights, you will see it. We will deal with you."

His views are very correct said Pamela Magwizi a victim of the despotic regime. She studied and worked tirelessly for the benefit of the people in Zimbabwe as a nurse and found herself at the receiving end of oppression. Like many healthcare professionals she escaped Zimbabwe.

The War Veterans Pressure Group (WVPG) has echoed Geza's sentiments, expressing disillusionment with the current administration's policies that reverse the gains of the revolution. They have accused the government of systemic abuse, economic mismanagement, and implementing regressive policies, warning that the nation's current trajectory dishonors the sacrifices made during the liberation war.

Families have lost their loved ones and many came back without limbs and other body parts, they are not recognised by the regime, said Regina Mahowo, Chipo Komboni, Phylis Melody Magejo, Nobukhosi Dube, Jane Mundangepfupfu and Nolanga Evangelista  Ndlovu protesting outside the UK Zimbabwe embassy  on her way to 10 Downing Street to hand in petition.

We acknowledge the growing support for Geza's movement, both within Zimbabwe and among the diaspora. The risk is very high for those that support his idea and those in the diaspora have used the democratic space to campaign endangering their lives upon return to Zimbabwe.

The fear has been shown by incarcerated members of the CCC Donovan Tendekai Dube and Denzel Munzara who does not know their fate if returned to Zimbabwe. This collective call for change transcends political affiliations, uniting Zimbabweans in the pursuit of a just and prosperous nation.

This defiance is one of its kind after the passed on 7 June 2023 the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Amendment Bill 2022.

We urge the international community to stand with the people of Zimbabwe during this critical juncture, supporting their aspirations for democratic governance, economic justice, and the preservation of human rights.

This is the reason why we in the diaspora who have tasted democracy, continue to encourage the World to pile the pressure on the regime, said Genius Mamwadhu a member of the Zimvigil. - Zimbabwean based in the Diaspora
