Education summit venue shifted

Organisers of the National Education Summit Zimbabwe (NESZ) 2026 have officially announced a change of venue for the highly anticipated annual gathering, with the summit now set to take place at Lakeside Events Centre in Woolandel, Bulawayo.

The four-day summit, scheduled for May 27 to 30, was initially expected to be hosted at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds.

However, organisers confirmed that the event will now be held at Lakeside Events Centre, located at 19A Woolandel along Plumtree Road after Mbokodo Abattoirs.

In a statement released by the organisers, the venue update was described as part of efforts to ensure a more engaging and impactful summit experience for delegates, exhibitors, policymakers, academics and industry leaders expected to attend from across Zimbabwe and beyond.

“We look forward to welcoming you to an engaging and impactful summit experience. All other event details remain unchanged,” read part of the announcement.

The summit, which is organised by the Action for Empowerment Zimbabwe (AEZ) and Business Diary in partnership with the Primary and Secondary Education ministry, has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s leading education dialogue platforms.

It is expected to bring together key stakeholders to discuss innovation, investment and policy transformation within the country’s education sector.

Alson Darikayi, AEZ president, said preparations for the event are progressing smoothly, with registration and exhibition bookings continuing as scheduled.

NESZ 2026 is anticipated to attract government officials, education experts, development partners, school authorities, tertiary institutions and private sector players committed to shaping the future of education in Zimbabwe.
