ZANU PF youth league Bulawayo province has launched an anti-littering campaign amid calls for stiffer penalties against litterbugs.
The campaign kicks off in Emganwini suburb, KoSaimart, this morning at 8.
In a statement yesterday, the youth league said the campaign was part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental cleanliness, community responsibility and active citizen participation.
“The clean-up initiative is aimed at instilling a culture of civic responsibility among young people and residents, while ensuring that our communities remain healthy and safe,” the statement read.
“We are calling on all party members, youths and residents in and around Emganwini to join us in this drive and take ownership of their environment.”
The exercise includes removing litter, clearing public spaces and sensitising the community on proper waste management.
“These activities are not only about cleaning up, but also about educating residents on the importance of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment,” they added.
“We want everyone to be prepared, equipped and engaged during the campaign, and our office will provide guidance to ensure safety and coordination."
