POLICE are investigating a case of attempted murder after a woman was found severely injured and naked in a bushy area behind the Amakhosi Cultural Centre.
Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu confirmed the incident, which occurred on Sunday morning.
Ndlovu said a 65-year-old man from Makokoba discovered the victim while walking through the area at around 8am.
“He found a female adult lying naked on the ground, struggling to breathe,” Ndlovu said.
“She had deep cuts on the right side of her head, her forehead and the back of her head, as well as a swollen right eye.”
He said the woman’s undergarments and black trousers were found beside her.
A report was filed and the victim was rushed to Mpilo Central Hospital for medical attention, where she is admitted.
“We appeal to members of the public with information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to report to their nearest police station,” Ndlovu said.
