CHICKEN INN are hard-pressed for victory when they host relegation-bound WhaWha in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Luveve Stadium today as they continue to play the catch-up game in the race for the title.
The GameCocks’ campaign has been inconsistent especially in the second half of the season where they have won five, lost an equal number and drew once in 11 games.
However, statistically they can still give a chase and hope for fortunes to turn their way as they still linger on position three on the log table with 48 points from 27 games. And with seven games to go to the end, they could pull a shocker.
All that would depend on how leaders FC Platinum and Dynamos will fare in the remaining games.
After losing two games, the Joey Antipas-coached Chicken Inn picked up three points with a win over Manica Diamonds at Vengere Stadium.

They, however, take on WhaWha, who have struggled in the league and are at the bottom on the log table with a meagre 20 points from 27 games and their last win was in July when they beat Highlanders at Ascot Stadium.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo Chiefs, boosted by their Chibuku Super Cup win over Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium last Sunday, entertain Manica Diamonds at Luveve on Sunday.
Despite remaining stuck on position 10 on the log table for a long time, the Ninjas’ run in the league has been impressive of late despite falling 1-0 to Ngezi Platinum in their game at Baobab Stadium.
Before Ngezi, they had beaten ZPC Kariba and Black Rhinos and they have amassed 36 points from 27 games.
Bulawayo City, also struggling in the relegation zone are travelling to Zvishavane to face FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium tomorrow.
