AS jostling for the Zifa hot seat heats up ahead of the closure of nomination at the end of the week, former Bantu Rovers chairman Sihlangu Dlodlo has emerged as a possible candidate.

It is understood that Dlodlo is also gunning for the Zifa presidency which became vacant after a vote of no confidence was passed on Cuthbert Dube.
The elections will be held on December 5.
Dlodlo, a former referee also managed the affairs of former Warriors skipper Esrom Nyandoro “It would be a good thing because I believe I can contribute to football in a very big way,” Dlodlo said. “However I have not come to a decision. What is interesting is that there is a general belief in this country that people from my region don’t contest for presidential positions. I want to disprove that line. I am still considering, I am talking to my family and other people that are important to me.”

The scales appear already tilting heavily on Phillip Chiyangwa, who has reportedly won the support of some regions and Zifa provincial chairpersons but former Zifa president and life member Leo Mugabe, believed to be Chiyangwa’s relative questioned his credentials.
Other names that have been touted for the Zifa presidency are that of Harare executive Leslie Gwindi and Trevor David Carelse-Juul who last year lost to Dube.
