Harry Allen Golf Club amateur golfer William Tshuma collapsed and died at his Gwabalanda residence on Wednesday.

He was 57.

The club has since suspended all its activities for the weekend following the passing on of their club member after suffering a heart attack.

Harry Allen public relations manager Moses Mlalazi said they received the news of the death of Tshuma with shock on morning.

“We were supposed to have the Masiyephambili School fundraising tournament on Saturday (tomorrow), but we have cancelled it following the death of our club member William Tshuma. He suffered a heart attack, collapsed and died yesterday (Wednesday). We are not going to have any event at Harry Allen on Sunday,” he said. Mlalazi described the death as a terrible loss to the golf fraternity as Tshuma had been a very good player.

“We used to play together whenever we had an alliance tournament. It would be me, Tshuma, Victor Tall and our vice-captain Dumisani Ndlovu. We would get prizes every time we played together. It is a big loss not only to us, but to all amateur golfers in Bulawayo,” he said.
