Brendon de Jonge maintained his brilliant start to the season on the US PGA Tour after finishing in a tie for 12th at the wind delayed $5,6 million Human Challenge in Partnership with the Clinton Foundation at PGA West Palmer Golf Course in LaQuinta, California on Sunday.
The top Zimbabwean professional golfer closed with an eight-under-par 64 to finish on 18 under 270 and earning $123 200 in the process.
De Jonge was six shots behind American Mark Wilson who closed with a three-under 69 to finish at 24 under, taking the $1 008 000 winners share of the $5,6 million purse.
It has been a solid start to the season by De Jonge, who only last week finished 10th in his first outing of the year at the $5, 5 million Sony Open in Hawaii.
For finishing on number 10 in Hawaii De Jonge, the only Zimbabwean plying his trade on the PGA Tour, pocketed a cool $137 500.
Another strong performance at the weekend ensured that De Jonge maintained number 21 on the Fedex Cup standings having earned a cool $260 700 from just two outings so far and 18th on the money list standings. De Jonge has been on a steady rise of the official World Golf Rankings after a consistent rise from number 130 to 119th.
