PREMIER Netball League (PNL) secretary-general Liberty Mhizha has said the failure of the Harare bubble to kick off last weekend will congest the league programme.
The matches were cancelled on Saturday after the league failed to secure a venue which meets COVID- 19 protocols.
Each was supposed to provide a secured venue with at least three courts.
In an interview with NewsDay Sport, Mhizha said: “We wanted teams to have a break between every bubble for physical recovery and strategies assimilation, but it is unfortunate that it did not happen that way.
“Possible venues with at least three courts were found mostly in schools, but the ministries (Sport and Health) haven’t given direction on sports resumption in schools, so that is the greatest challenge we are facing.”

He added: “A decision on the venue will be made soon to the benefit of the sport and games are on this weekend.”
While the Harare side failed to get rolling, the Masvingo bubble was a success as teams managed to play their games.
“The (Masvingo) bubble was a success and trust me, we learn every day. Definitely, we hope to do better each passing day,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Rainbow Amateur Netball League games, which also failed to start last weekend due to clearance issues, are now set to commence this weekend as they were cleared by the Sport and Recreation Commission.
