ZIMBABWE A head coach Erick Chauluka has called for clarity and adaptability as his side prepares for today’s must-win second 50-over match against Bangladesh Emerging in Bogura with the series on the line after an 85-run loss on Monday.

Chasing 364 in the opener, Zim A were bowled out 85 short despite Wessly Madhevere’s century and Matthew Campbell’s half-century. The hosts bowled Bangladesh A out but leaked runs throughout.

“Chasing 364 against any side will always demand near perfection. The main thing for us was clarity in our approach, pacing our innings, absorbing pressure, and knowing when to counterattack. Partnerships are key, and we must avoid too many dot balls in the middle overs,” Chauluka told NewsDay Sport.

Madhevere’s ton stood out after he came in at 111/4 in the 22nd over.

“We failed to hit our lines and lengths as well as we would have liked or as well as we were doing at training.”

For today’s survival game, the shift is clear.

“One or two players must bat deep while others play the tempo role, rotate strike and have boundary options. We need big partnerships and to stay sharp in the field.”

With the series now on a knife-edge, Zimbabwe A must win to force a decider. A defeat would hand Bangladesh Emerging the series, raising the stakes significantly for today’s early morning contest.
