WARRIORS winger Tawanda Maswanhise capped a standout season on Sunday night, scooping two major honours at Motherwell FC’s end-of-season awards ceremony.

The Zimbabwe international was named Young Player of the Year and also claimed the Golden Boot, underlining his rapid rise as one of the Scottish Premiership’s most prolific forwards.

Since joining the Scottish side in 2024, the 23-year-old has developed from a promising prospect into a clinical finisher. He scored 22 goals in all competitions this season, with 17 in the Scottish Premiership, where he finished as top scorer ahead of Benjamin Nygren of Celtic FC, who netted 15.

The haul marks a major improvement for Maswanhise, who managed just five goals in all competitions last season.

Despite his prolific form, the overall Player of the Year award went to teammate Elijah Just, who also claimed the Players’ Player of the Season accolade after an impressive campaign of his own.

Maswanhise’s performances have also earned recognition beyond the club. He was named in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year for the 2025/26 season and remains in contention for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Season award alongside Just.
