NEWLY promoted Agama FC have demonstrated a rare show of camaraderie by visiting injured Dynamos FC goalkeeper Nfor Finia Idrissou in hospital.
Idrissou was hospitalised with a broken jaw following a clash with an Agama player at Wadzanayi Stadium in Shamva last Sunday. He has since undergone successful surgery and is now on the path to recovery.
Agama FC chief executive Entrodge Usayi said the club felt compelled to act swiftly, stressing that football is anchored in humanity beyond rivalry.
“When a player is injured, especially in a serious incident, the first response must be compassion and support,” Usayi told NewsDay Sport.
“It was not about clubs or rivalries, but about standing with one of our own. We wanted him to know that he is not alone and that his health comes first.”
Usayi, who represented club president Malvern Moyo and the entire Agama FC family, said the gesture reflects the club’s broader commitment to player welfare.

“Agama FC is not only focused on its own players but also on the well-being of the entire football community. We believe in setting a positive example,” he said.
Usayi added that the incident had a profound impact on the Agama players, who responded with concern and maturity.
“Our players were deeply affected. It reminded them that football carries real risks, but they showed empathy and unity. It reinforced the importance of respect on the pitch,” he said.
The Agama FC chief further emphasised the need to uphold sportsmanship in local football, noting that competition should never come at the expense of respect and safety.
“Respect and sportsmanship are the foundation of the game. True strength lies not just in winning, but in how you conduct yourself,” he said.
