THE stage is set for a monumental celebration as newly-crowned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions, Scottland FC, prepare to receive their coveted trophy this Saturday.

Adding glamour and gravitas to the event, legendary sungura musician Alick Macheso is lined up to provide the live entertainment following the team's final league match of the season against TelOne FC at Ascot Stadium.

Scottland FC, under the astute tutelage of Tonderai Ndiraya, have achieved a truly historic feat: clinching the championship in their very first season in the topflight league.

This extraordinary accomplishment was sealed two weeks ago with a convincing 5-1 drubbing of Kwekwe United, leaving them with two games to spare.

This debut-season championship triumph is a rare achievement in Zimbabwean football, a milestone last accomplished by the renowned Black Rhinos class of 1984.

The newly crowned champions will now carry the nation’s hopes into the continental arena next year, representing the country in the CAF Champions’ League.
