ALL is set for a potential game changer Trabablas Gloves On 2 boxing tournament, which is scheduled to take place at the Harare International Conference Centre on December 4.
This event follows the successful staging of the inaugural instalment, which electrified the town of Chivhu on November 1, 2025.
The tournament’s second edition was officially-launched yesterday in Harare, marking a significant step in what promoters believe will be a complete overhaul of boxing in Zimbabwe.
The launch event garnered attention with the attendance of prominent figures, including Zanu PF Mashonaland East political commissar Lincoln Matare.
The Trabablas Gloves On tournament is a co-promotion between the Charles Manyuchi Boxing Academy and Delta Force.
Beyond just the competition, the series is dedicated to honouring the achievements made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the second republic, with the ambitious goal of hosting the event in all the country’s 10 provinces.

Speaking on behalf of the promoters, Clyde Musonda of Delta Force lauded Mnangagwa for creating an enabling environment for sports development.
He outlined a bold vision, stating: “Vision 2030 under President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership is a trend steer for this boxing drive and in the next five years we will see a complete overhaul of boxing and boxers in Zimbabwe.”
He emphasised the mission to establish a solid boxing hub focused on athlete development, talent nurturing, and equipping pugilists with the knowledge for healthy lifestyles.
“Our mission is to unite and stimulate passion for all boxing athletes,” Musonda added, citing the successful Chivhu event as evidence of a platform created for high-level competition and skill development.
The ultimate goal is to enhance the sport across all provinces and produce world-class boxing athletes, aligning with Vision 2030 to ensure Zimbabwean pugilists are equipped to conquer the world by the deadline.
The inaugural event in Chivhu was a game-changer, attracting over 40 boxers from Zimbabwe and regional countries.
The tournament’s success was highlighted by the incredible rewards given to the fighters.
Inaugural Trabablas belt winner, Clever Sithole, was gifted a Toyota Fortuner GD-6 vehicle by Zanu PF central committee member Kudakwashe Tagwirei after defeating Lawrence Chiyangwa.
Chiyangwa was also generously awarded a Toyota Hilux single-cab truck.
Sithole noted that this gesture was empowering youths and changing perceptions about the sport.
The December 4 Harare instalment is expected to feature over 30 boxers trading leather.
Just like the first edition, it will draw talent from several regional countries, including Malawi and Zambia.
Local boxing fans can look forward to Mbare-bred popular boxer Tinashe “Chairman” Mwadziwana defending his World Boxing Federation belt, while female pugilist Revai Madondo is set to make her long-awaited comeback.
The Trabablas Gloves On series is positioned to inject new life and resources into Zimbabwean boxing, promising a major transformation and setting the stage for local athletes to compete globally.
