CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League Footballer of the Year Denver Mukamba has completed his much publicised move to South Africa after penning a two-year deal with Absa Premiership side Bidvest Wits Football Club. Report by Henry Mhara
A source close to Mukamba yesterday confirmed a deal had been signed and the player was set to join the ambitious Wits side for a preseason training camp early next month.
“He signed last week and it’s a two-year contract. He is set to leave on the 5th of January for preseason camp which starts on the 7th,” said the source.
Mukamba’s manager Gibson Mahachi, however, yesterday dismissed the reports saying the midfielder was yet to sign.
“We are still negotiating with the club. He has not signed as yet, but it looks promising,” said Mahachi.
Mukamba was not reachable yesterday.

The 20-year-old, voted the Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year and Dynamos’ Player of the Year earlier this month had a trial stint with Bidvest in June this year and reportedly impressed the technical team led by Antonio Habas although they did not throw in their bid at the time.
However, it seems Habas has finally made up his mind on the hugely talented player who is also on the Orlando Pirates and Pretoria University radar.
Mukamba refused to renew his contract at Dynamos and was subsequently omitted from the Glamour Boys’ Caf Champions League squad when it had become apparent that he would leave the country for greener pastures.
At Wits, Mukamba joins two other Zimbabweans Thomas Sweswe and Tinashe Nengomasha who joined last season from Kaizer Chiefs.
