JAZZ songbird Vera Chisvo has hailed organisers of the just-ended Intwasa Festival koBulawayo for availing a platform for female artists to showcase their talent.

Chisvo shared the stage with Prudence Mabhena, Batsirai Chigama, Tina Watyoka, Edith WeUtonga and Tariro NeGitare during the Women, Wine and Words session designed to amplify the voices of female creatives.
The musician told Southern Eye Life & Style she was grateful to the organisers as the session afforded her an opportunity to interact with her Bulawayo fans after her last performance in the city at a jazz festival in 2016.
“The festival did well by bringing women from the two cities at the concert. It had young talented artists who had the chance to perform with established ones and the interaction between the two, mixing the old and new, is what makes the industry grow,” she said.
“The crowd was so welcoming and supportive and made me feel at home. I enjoyed sharing the stage with the likes of Edith. Judging by the way the audience sang along and danced to my music, they enjoyed it.”

The event was hosted in partnership with Skyz Metro FM.
The musician who is currently working on the visuals of her latest single titled Grab My Waist — a collaboration with American rapper Kojo — also hinted that she was working on a new single titled Tik Tok with South African wheel spinners Mr Rebel and Dean Ultra.
The single will be released next week.
Held under the theme Realities and Experiences, this year’s edition of Intwasa showcased various acts and pieces in theatre, dance, music, spoken word, visual arts, literary arts and fashion.
