An MDC-T official in Bulilima East in Matabeleland South has lauded  President Robert Mugabe’s quick intervention to stop partisan distribution of food and farming inputs sourced under the  Presidential Inputs Scheme.

MDC-T Bulilima East district spokesman William Ncube told NewsDay last Friday that members of his party were now receiving inputs and food handouts under the presidential scheme following Mugabe’s recent directive.

“The situation has now normalised after the President’s intervention,” he said.

“We thank the President for being a true national leader. He handled the inputs scheme issue like a father to us and those who were perpetrating the unfair practice have stopped.”

In November last year a row erupted among villagers in Ward 17 in  the Norwood Solusi area  over the Presidential Inputs Scheme after some senior Zanu PF officials reportedly  sidelined their MDC-T counterparts.
