After realising that one of the significant causes of accidents was drivers’ poor sight, The Zimbabwe Optometry Association (ZOA) held a two-day free eye screening for drivers at OK Mart in Hillside this week.
ZOA President Richard Mavheneka wants to push a legislative agenda to compel drivers to go through eye screening at least once every five years.
“Sight does not remain sharp and sometimes people don’t realise that they have lost it. This happens due to health problems or age,” said Mavheneka.
