Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) has appointed Ruvimbo Chipango as Group Financial Director, the media company announced on Tuesday.
Her appointment is with immediate effect. Chipango is a Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe) and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe. She also holds a Master of Business Leadership degree from the University of South Africa.
Prior to this appointment, Chipango was the Finance Director, Head of Strategy and Advisory Services at MBCA Bank Limited (MBCA), which is a subsidiary of Nedbank Group Limited.
She worked for MBCA for 11 years starting off as a Divisional Executive in the Advisory Services Division. Before joining MBCA, Chipango worked at Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants (Zimbabwe) for seven years. AMH Chairman Trevor Ncube said: “We are delighted that a professional of Ruvimbo’s calibre is joining our team.
Her qualifications and experience will greatly benefit AMH and we wish her well in her new position.” Chipango takes over from Mike Curling who had been with the company for 15 years and has since reached retirement age.

“We wish Mike the best for the future.” AMH are publishers of NewsDay, the Zimbabwe Independent and Standard newspapers. It also owns a commercial and newspaper printing company, Strand MultiPrint, and Munn Marketing, which is Zimbabwe’s largest newspaper and magazine distributing company.
