Victoria Falls Safari Lodge was crowned the Association of Zimbabwean Travel Agent’s (AZTA) “Best Safari Lodge of the Year” Award for the 16th year in a row at an awards ceremony in Harare a fortnight ago.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is Africa Albida Tourism’s flagship establishment and is located four kilometres from the spectacular Victoria Falls.

Designed to give the impression of a vast open-plan tree house, the lodge is built on seven intricate levels rising above the unspoilt African bushveld and offers its guests uninterrupted views of spectacular African sunsets and year-round wildlife at its on-site waterhole — the focal point of the resort.

“Recognition from the travel trade industry makes this accolade particularly special, so thank-you to the Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents”, said Glenn Stutchbury, managing director of Africa Albida Tourism.

“Victoria Falls Safari Lodge are committed to ensuring our guests are well looked after and that our service levels and facilities at the lodge are up to the high standards of this reputable association and its members.”

In addition to the award, Wendy Bourne, marketing executive for Africa Albida Tourism, scooped the Exceptional Voluntary Service to AZTA and the Zimbabwe Tourism Industry for the second year in a row.

“Wendy Bourne is so deserving of this award — it is recognition of all the effort she makes outside of her job and on behalf of colleagues in the industry. She is a true tourism ambassador and we at Africa Albida Tourism are very proud of her achievements,” added Stutchbury.

AZTA has been in existence for over 60 years and has more than 75 members.
