Two Africom Holdings bosses and a Global Satellite Systems director who are being accused of illegally possessing, controlling or working a radio station on Wednesday applied for acquittal arguing the allegations levelled against them did not constitute an offence.

Africom acting chief executive Simba Mangwende, non-executive director Farai Rwodzi and director of Global Satellite Systems Oliver Chiku all argued the allegations levelled against them did not disclose any offence.

Prosecutor Michael Reza is expected to respond to the application for exception to the charge made by the three before magistrate Kudakwashe Jarabini makes a determination on the matter on February 27.
