Three Bulawayo men have been dragged to court for allegedly robbing Inyathi villagers of goods and cash valued at nearly $1 000.
Best Ncube (27) of Woodville, Lizwe Sibanda (32) of Iminyela and Nkosilathi Ncube (29) of Mpopoma were not asked to plead to robbery and theft charges when they appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sherpard Mnjanja last Friday.
The court heard that on June 18, the suspects robbed David Dlamini of Village 2 Bremmer in Inyathi at a bus stop and got away with goods that included a cellphone, clothes, shoes, a vending certificate, a birth certificate and more than $600 cash.
The total value of the property and cash they robbed Dlamini was $842 and only $61 worth of it was recovered following the suspects’ arrest on July 3.
A day before their arrest, the suspects allegedly stole groceries worth $97 belonging to Keron Gumede of Dollar Block Extension B in Inyathi. Gumede who had alighted from a bus had left his groceries hidden by the roadside as he went home to organise transport.
When he came back, he found the goods missing.
