MUTARE, July 5 (NewsDay Live) - Zanu PF youth in Manicaland have ventured into the public passenger transport business, with their two buses trading as 'Manica Go' plying the Harare-Mutare Highway.
Provincial youth chairman Stanley Sakupwanya said they acquired the buses from the US$200 000 they received under the Presidential Youth Fund.
Speaking at a recent Zanu PF Manicaland inter-district meeting in Mutare, Sakupwanya told party treasurer Patrick Chinamasa that the bus project was one of the several economic empowerment ventures they have embarked on as the youth.
“Boss Chinamasa, our President (Emmerson Mnangagwa) gave us US$200 000 under the Youth Empowerment Fund and we want to thank him.
“Of the US$200 000 Empowerment Fund we received, we acquired two buses and they are plying the Harare-Mutare Highway. We are offering reliable services under Manica Go,” he said.
Added Sakupwanya: “The profits are being reinvested into sustainable projects across Manicaland, ensuring ongoing grassroots empowerment.
