KAROI — MDC-T Hurungwe district chairman David Mutambirwa — arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening to burn down a house belonging to Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn (MKD) party activists — has appeared in court.
REPORT BY OWN CORRESPONDENT
Mutambirwa (42) was remanded on free bail to December 10 when he appeared before Karoi magistrate Nyaradzo Ringisayi yesterday.
It is the State case that on November 25 this year, Mutambirwa — an MDC-T councillor for Ward 2 in Karoi — stormed house number 720 Nematombo Road in Chikangwe’s Ward 4 and accused complainants Esnath Munyonga and Viola Nyamurundira of supporting the MKD.
He allegedly threatened to return at midnight while the occupants were asleep and burn down their house as well as the perimeter thatch.
The matter was then reported to police, leading to Mutambirwa’s arrest.
