A BOTSWANA man who was once arrested in Bulawayo for allegedly possessing 586kg of mbanje was on Monday extradited to Zimbabwe to appear in court over the alleged crime. REPORT BY SILAS NKALA STAFF REPORTER

The Motswana — Itumeleng Doctor — of Francistown whose age was not given, appeared before Francistown magistrate Peggy Madandume for extradition after Zimbabwean authorities asked for his transfer to Bulawayo.

Mmegi newspaper reported on Tuesday that Madandume ruled that Doctor must be extradited to Zimbabwe in January to appear in court over the alleged offence.

He was allegedly caught in Bulawayo on December 22 last year in possession of the illegal drug.

Doctor, who was not represented, pleaded with the court to quickly arrange for his extradition because he wanted to get on with his life.

He was remanded in custody pending extradition.
