SONS of the late Leonard Dembo, Morgan and Tendai, will have a chance to exhibit that they can fill the gap left by their father when they perform at the Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza tonight. Report by Silence Charumbira Entertainment Reporter
The brothers will provide a curtain-raiser act at a show that features Sulumani Chimbetu, Jah Prayzah and Nicholas Zakaria. The young artistes have been on an upward spiral since the release of their debut album Kutsika Matsimba.
Though the album was poorly marketed, it has given the diehard Dembo fans a ray of hope that the young musicians are determined to fill their father’s gigantic boots.
Their manager Benjamin Rupapa said his boys were raring to go.
“The boys keenly wait for the show. They have been working hard to make a mark on the local scene,” said Rupapa.
“They know they have a gigantic task in making their father’s fans believe in them, but the truth is Leonard is gone and they are the solace that Zimbabwe has. They have worked really hard which is commendable, and I think they are beginning to earn respect in the arts circles.”

He said the show would also be another platform for the brothers to learn.
“The Zimbabwean arts scene is very small and collaborations afford a chance to every artiste to show their capacity. Morgan and Tendai will take this as a moment to learn from Sulu, Jah Prayzah and everyone else who may perform on the night.”
The show has been dubbed The First Gig – Batai Munhu Concert.
